Grants & Scholarships

Each year, the Summit Booster Club works hard to raise funds, and it ALL goes to enhance our kids' education in the form of grants to teams, clubs, and academic departments, and in the form of scholarships for post-secondary studies.

Booster Grants

From science equipment to golf bags, our grants are used to purchase needed equipment and cover other essential costs for our excellent arts, athletic, and academic programs. Any teacher, coach, or sponsor can submit a Grant Request on behalf of their Summit program. To better understand the scope of our grants, review our grant history here.

To be eligible for a grant, the request must meet the educational goals of SHS and the objectives of the Booster Club. Before receiving a grant, teams and groups will be expected to outline answers to the following questions:

  • Describe the exact items for which the grant money is needed, along with a detailed budget.
  • What fundraising activities has the team or club already done or are planning to do, and how much money has been raised?
  • We look for participation in the 3 major fundraising activities that support the Booster's Grants program: eScrip-Safeway, concessions & sponsorships. How many of your students and their families are registered with the eScrip - Safeway program? (Our goal, of course, is 100%!) Has the group raised any funds through the Booster Bucks concession stand program, the sale of a sponsorship banners, or through the corporate partnership program?
  • Representatives of the team or club will need to present their request at a Booster meeting (in 10 min. or less). We strongly encourage students to be part of the presentations, rather than relying on coaches or parents!

Booster Scholarships

Each spring, we give a “boost” to several graduating seniors to help them pursue their dreams of higher education. We award scholarships of $1000 each to the top applicants, usually one male and one female, who have demonstrated exemplary school spirit, determination, and personal growth throughout their years at Summit. Applications require an essay and letter of recommendation, and are reviewed by a panel of Booster parents.
